NUMERICAL BLEED REDUCTION AND
NUMERICALLY REDUCED INJECTION FREQUENCY
vs prior SHL FIX9

A real-world study across Denmark, Germany and the UK assessing patients switching from SHL FIX (on-demand or prophylaxis) to ALPROLIX prophylaxis (N=30) with up to 24 months follow-up reported:9

Improved bleed protection9

Mean ABR numerically reduced with ALPROLIX vs pre-switch FIX9

Pre- vs post-switch ABR9

Reduced injection frequency9
Syringe icon

Injection frequency numerically reduced, with one less mean injection per week post-switch from SHL FIX prophylaxis (n=24)9

Pre-switch: 2.0 injections/week
Post-switch: 1.0 injection/week

Reduced factor consumption9

Mean factor consumption numerically reduced by 27.7 IU/kg/week
post-switch from SHL FIX prophylaxis9

Pre- vs post-switch mean weekly factor consumption (n=24)9

ABR, annualised bleeding rate; FIX, factor IX; IU, international unit; SD, standard deviation; SHL, standard half-life.

MOST TARGET JOINTS RESOLVED AND
IMPROVED BLEED PROTECTION vs prior SHL FIX9

Increased proportion of patients with zero bleeds9

Following switch from SHL FIX prophylaxis (n=17):9

2.4×

more patients had zero bleeds
during 18–24 months post switch to ALPROLIX
prophylaxis

  • Pre-switch: 21.7% (n=5/23)
  • Post-switch: 52.9% (n=9/17)
Most target joints resolved9
Joint

83% (5/6) of target joints resolved
in patients switching from SHL FIX
on-demand/prophylaxis to ALPROLIX prophylaxis9

No new target joints developed9

FIX, factor IX; SHL, standard half-life.

NUMERICAL BLEED REDUCTION AND
NUMERICALLY REDUCED INJECTION FREQUENCY
vs prior SHL FIX9

A non-interventional, retrospective multicentre chart review based on the medical
records of patients who had switched from SHL FIX to ALPROLIX prophylaxis9

Data obtained from centres in Denmark (n=9), Germany (n=9) and the UK (n=12)9

Study objectives:

To describe real-world clinical
outcomes and change in factor usage
for patients switching from SHL FIX to
ALPROLIX prophylaxis; and describe the
characteristics of patients switching9

Patients/data collected:9

Between July 2021 and February 2022,
data were obtained from healthcare
centres in Denmark, Germany and the UK:

  • Adult/adolescent (aged ≥12 years
    [n=26]) and paediatric patients with
    haemophilia B (<12 years [n=4])
  • Documented treatment with SHL FIX
    administered either on-demand or
as prophylaxis for ≥6 months prior to
    initiation of ALPROLIX prophylaxis
  • ≥6 months records thereafter

Primary endpoints (pre-switch SHL FIX vs post-switch ALPROLIX prophylaxis):*9

  • ABR
  • Factor consumption
  • Injection frequency

Secondary endpoints:*9

  • AjBR and AsBR (pre- and post-switch to ALPROLIX prophylaxis)
  • Change in ABR over time
  • Target joint development and resolution
  • Changes in injection frequency and factor consumption after switching to ALPROLIX prophylaxis from SHL FIX prophylaxis
  • Duration of ALPROLIX prophylaxis treatment together with change in ABR over time

*Primary and secondary endpoints were summarised for the total population (including all countries). Data were also stratified by country, age group and according to the most recent SHL FIX regimen received prior to ALPROLIX prophylaxis.9
ABR, annualised bleeding rate; AjBR, annualised joint bleeding rate; AsBR, annualised spontaneous bleeding rate; FIX, factor IX; SHL, standard half-life.
